1 Enoch is a pseudepigraphic Jewish apocalyptic text composed in Aramaic between the 3rd-2nd centuries BCE, surviving complete only in Ge'ez (Ethiopic), with 11 Aramaic fragments recovered from Qumran Cave 4. It is canonical in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, explicitly quoted in Jude 14-15, and represents one of the most significant non-canonical texts for understanding Second Temple cosmology.
