Dale Beyerstein's methodological critique of how Edgar Cayce's readings were evaluated, published in Skeptical Inquirer (Jan–Feb 1996). The analysis addresses confirmation bias, cold reading techniques, and the absence of controlled experimental conditions in Cayce research, while also cataloguing documented instances where readings produced verifiably incorrect diagnoses or predictions. This work provides the most systematic skeptical evaluation of Cayce's methodology and failure rate.
