Society for Psychical Research

The Society for Psychical Research, established in London in 1882, is the world's first organization for scholarly psychical research and has counted among its past members William James, Sigmund Freud, and multiple Nobel laureates. Its longevity and distinguished membership history provide institutional credibility for parapsychology research, though its subject matter remains outside mainstream science.
