Mune Theory ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website munetheory.com and publishes The Lantern, our email newsletter. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We believe in transparency and plain language, so we've written this to be readable.
When you subscribe to The Lantern: We collect your first name and email address through our newsletter platform, beehiiv. This is the only personal information we actively request from you.
Automatically when you visit our site: Webflow, our hosting provider, may collect basic analytics data such as pages visited, referring URLs, browser type, and device information. Webflow does not place tracking cookies on hosted sites by default. beehiiv may use tracking pixels in newsletter emails to measure open rates and link clicks.
What we don't collect: We do not collect payment information, social security numbers, health data, or any other sensitive personal information. We do not require you to create an account to read our content.

beehiiv hosts and delivers The Lantern. When you subscribe, your name and email are stored on beehiiv's servers (hosted on AWS in the United States). beehiiv is SOC 2 Type 1 compliant and adheres to GDPR and CCPA requirements. Their full privacy policy is available at beehiiv.com/privacy.
Webflow hosts munetheory.com. Webflow does not add tracking cookies to hosted sites. Any analytics are limited to basic, anonymized site traffic data. Their privacy policy is at webflow.com/legal/privacy.
If we add services in the future (such as a payment processor for digital products), we will update this policy accordingly.
Munetheory.com uses minimal cookies. Webflow places only essential cookies required for site functionality. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or other third-party advertising trackers. beehiiv may use email tracking pixels to measure newsletter engagement (opens and clicks). You can disable image loading in your email client to prevent pixel tracking.
Unsubscribe from The Lantern: Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, and you're removed.
Request data deletion: You can request deletion of your personal data by emailing us at the contact address below. For data held by beehiiv, you may also contact privacy@beehiiv.com directly.
Access your data: You may request a summary of what personal information we hold about you at any time.
We retain your name and email address for as long as you remain subscribed to The Lantern. If you unsubscribe, your information is removed from our active mailing list. beehiiv may retain certain data in accordance with their own retention policies and legal obligations.
Mune Theory is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
Munetheory.com is operated from the United States. If you access our site from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. While we are not subject to GDPR, we make a good-faith effort to handle all personal data responsibly and transparently regardless of where you're located.

Our third-party partners (beehiiv and Webflow) maintain their own security standards, including beehiiv's SOC 2 Type 1 compliance and AWS hosting infrastructure.
